going back to italy!

Yup, it's true. I'm headed back to Itay this fall, but this time to a different part of the country, and more importantly, this time with my honey. We're looking forward to exploring historic places, soaking up beautiful scenery, eating delicious foods, and drinking great wines.

Of course, my favorite part of planning this trip was discovering all the incredibly gorgeous hotels and inns in this part of the world to choose from. And having Michael agree with everything I found and fell in love with! Because we both want to see as much we can, within reason, in our 9 days away, we're planning on making a few stops along the Amalfi Coast, staying here in Capri...

and here in Sant'Agata...

and finally here in Sorrento.

Counting the days! Have you been? What is a must-see/don't miss?

Amalfi coast is amazing - loved every minute of it. Don't miss seafood in your pasta if you can and those roads are crazy!

Never been to Europe at all, but clearly it needs to go on my "places to go" list. These images are unbelieveable!

Oh, you are going to LOVE that part of Italy. I was there as part of a school trip when I was 16, many years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. We stayed at an amazing place in Sorrento (it had the same kind of view as the photo you posted) and we visited Capri also. Simply gorgeous. Don't miss Pompeii. It was quite an experience. Enjoy!!!

I'm so happy for you. Visiting Italy is #1 on my list of 100 things I want to do before I die. I hope you'll take a gazillion pictures to share so we can live vicariously through you. It will be like having a personal travel guide.

So jealous! We spent a day in Capri on our trip to Rome a couple years ago and I wish we could have stayed longer. Be sure to take the chairlift to the top of Mount Solaro for some seriously amazing views.

These pics are beautiful! My dear husband just looked over my shoulder and said if I can find out the name of the place in Sorrento, he'll find a way to take us there!

Oh please .... what is the name of the place?

Gorgeous. Spent one day in Capri in winter, but it was still nice. We walked up a back alley instead of taking the chairlift (too cheap) but we saw some neat backyard views (if you don't mind huffing and puffing uphill for a mile.)
