field trip: spaces kennebunkport

Yesterday was dark and stormy here in the Northeast. So, if I couldn't be in the garden or on the beach, I thought, why not go shopping? I decided to take a little drive up to Kennebunkport, Maine, a charming town and pretty scenic spot in any weather, and mostly to spend the $150 gift certificate I won last week that was generously offered by Spaces Kennebunkport through Young House Love. Yay!

There was so much to choose from at this stylish shop—I seriously could have taken one of everything. And I so wanted to give a more personal tour of the store, but I left my camera at home. Darn. Luckily, Spaces has a great website I could grab some images from to show you all the loveliness they have to offer.

I adored all the bright table linens...

lots of Michael Aram silver...

my absolute love (I've blogged about him before) John Robshaw bedding...
beautiful Thomas Paul and Dermond Peterson pillows...

...among stunning lamps, pretty plates, Dwellstudio linens, Jonathan Adler accessories—it was all too good!

So here's what I came home with:
Gorgeous plate in a great graphic pattern and bold coral color. I have a thing for trays! You can never have too many (as you'll see) and you can do so much with them. This is on my office credenza; I thought it'd be a good place to hold some business cards. I also picked up the silver mint julep cup and it's now holding some colored pencils. I'm not one to spend lots of dough on accessories, so this was a good chance for me to get some pretty things to add to my collection and create some vignettes in a few rooms.

Here's what else I couldn't resist—another plate! This one's living on my dresser corralling some bracelets and such. Love the sunshiney yellow color and fab pattern.

I definitely recommend a visit to Spaces Kennebunkport the next time you find yourself in Maine. And after some successful purchases, I also say it's worth a special trip from anywhere in New England. And if you can't get there, shop online!
