baby emmy and the nursery

I cannot believe my baby girl is two months old now! I'm already wondering where the time goes. Emerson is doing SO well. Sleeping wonderfully at night, 6-8 hours then an hour for a feeding and a diaper change and then right back for another 2-3 hours. And I go right on sleeping with her so I'm not tired at all. Sleeping makes everything better! That said, she very unpredictable about napping during the day, so I'm getting no work done at all and hence the lack of posts. Some days she'll take all her naps, and some long ones, and other days it's just 20 minutes at a time and by 4 pm I'm totally stressed because she's getting overtired and because I didn't get time to even return an email nevermind take a shower or change my clothes. But it's all amazing and I wouldn't change a thing.

We've been spending lots of time together, smiling and learning new things, posing for tons of pictures, and just generally being cute.

And we've spent lots of time with family, just hanging out.

Up til now she hasn't spent much time in the nursery, but with her sleeping so well at night and gaining lots of weight, I think her mom and dad's room/bassinet days are numbered. And with her not spending too much time here, I guess that is my excuse for not having it "done," but I'm now itching to really decorate and make it functional and adorable! I'm thinking by January she'll be settling in here overnight, and I want the room to be just right, though I know it'll evolve with her.

Now I know it looks just fine now, but I've got some plans to make it look even better and I'll write about them this week, as long as I can manage to get up earlier than Emmy or as long as she decides to sleep during the day! I really hope that's the case because I missed you guys!

Love this update! Emmy is so precious (as is that nickname), and it sounds like the last 2 months have been very well-spent. Enjoy your first Christmas together, too!

Echoing what Claudia said. Welcome back and enjoy these days--sleep deprived or baby centered. They really do go by so quickly.

She is so sweet Casey - what a beauty. Glad you are all getting rest - that's wonderful. Sheila wasn't a great day napper either but she was always so good at night. Thanks so much for the update and can't believe she's 2 months already! Enjoy the holidays with your new little bundle of joy.

Casey!! Yay, its so great to hear from you! OMG, Emmy is beautiful...I think she looks exactly like Michael:) That is amazing that she is sleeping so well and that you are getting sleep too, such a huge difference. I almost feel better when other bloggers who have just had kids don't post much, it makes me feel better about how I adjusted to blogging as a new mom!! The nursery is so pretty with the pops of pink. Love! Hasn't 2 months just flown by? Crazy! Enjoy, give her a hug for me:)
