our neutral nursery design board

It's so fun to start pulling ideas together for baby! It's all I want to do lately. And since we don't know whether it's a little girl or boy baby on the way, I wanted to stay mostly neutral. These items and ideas I've had percolating for a while, so it's nice to see them in one place. Some new additions: the coral red and turquoise block-printed fabric from Rikshaw Design to add some much needed pop (maybe as crib skirt or bumper). The coral feels just the slightest bit feminine, but I love it so much I'm hoping it could go either way. Thoughts?

Love the bassinet! Oh, and the fabric could definitely be for a boy or girl.

I wish you could hear the audible "awww" that I just let out. It's beautiful, Casey. And I don't think the fabric choices read too feminine. That seahorse pattern adds enough gender neutrality.

I think the fabric is the slightest bit feminine, but with all the warm grey-brown you are using and the dark (chalkboard?) walls, it would be great for either boy or a girl. You can also add in artwork with a more masculine theme if it's a boy and some ruffle-y type stuff if it's a girl.
I love the direction you're going with the nursery. That's one lucky baby!

Beautiful, Casey! As far as I'm concerned, the fabric could go either way. Once you bring baby home, all the boyish or girlish things you fill the room with will most definitely shift that fabric to its appropriate gender :)

What a lucky baby! I think as Meg said, all of your other choices balance out that tiny bit of femininity. I think the sea-horse fabric neutralizes it a bit too. It's a great color and such a nice change from yellow and green. It's amazing how once your baby fills the room it really all those gender things fall into place and look just right.

Hope you're feeling well. I really do remember that time so fondly. Enjoy all the nesting!

This is such an awesome design board, Casey! I'm pinning right away, of course. Love all of the texture with the block-printed fabric.

I don't think the coral feels feminine - if anything I think that aqua blue is more feminine than the coral. I think it's great and could really go either way. I forgot to email you but I gave you a quick shout out in my post yesterday. Your nursery post from a few weeks ago got me thinking about what I love about Sheila's room.
