must-have: inspiration board

Inspiration board, inspiration wall, inspiration area. Every designer must have one. But, you don't have to be a designer to have one. Every living, breathing soul who wants to grab ideas and not let go should have one!

A place to put photos, pages torn from magazines, fabrics, paint chips, postcards, quotes, art, book pages, letters—all the miscellany that comes in and out of a creative life.

A pretty spot for looking over things you like.

I have a few places in my home that collect random images and things. There's no rhyme or reason to what kinds of inspiring things go in which space—I'm not too organized, which is the whole point of gathering ideas, snatching them up, and saving them somewhere.

What does your inspiration look like?

My problem is I have inspiration "boards" in practically every room !! Drives Jeff nuts -- all these random magazine clippings, paint chips, fabric samples, craft supplies and DIY ideas for the house and projects for the kids...I just need to consolidate the collection and give it some order -(and remember to refer back to it). Blog looks great, Case!

Cracking me up! Yes, I suppose the inspiration is only good if it turns into action. And I find I have to "curate" my collections every few months, otherwise it just ends up a random mess of lost ideas!
